The Site

Blackthorn Village
ModerateEleven derelict buildings. Room-by-room fighting.
Our flagship zone: a full mock village of timber huts, a chapel and a two-storey watch house. Attackers push the high street while defenders hold the rooftops.

A typical full-day Skirmisher itinerary. Half-day sessions run the same shape, just tighter.

Roll up to base camp, sign your waivers, grab a brew and meet your marshal.

Kit Up
Overalls, gloves, body armour and a mask fitted properly to your face. Markers are issued and chrono-tested.

Safety Brief
Fifteen minutes of straight talking: barrel socks, safe zones, the surrender rule and how to call yourself out.

Into the trees. Games run back-to-back with breaks between, starting easy and ramping up.

Safety

Paintball stings. It should never hurt. Here is exactly how we keep 40 acres of adrenaline under control.
Masks stay on, always
Full-face ASTM-rated goggles are mandatory in every game zone. No exceptions, no arguments, no lifting for a photo.
Every marker chronographed
All markers are tested below 280 feet per second before play and spot-checked through the day.
The surrender rule
Inside five metres you offer a surrender before you shoot. Take the point, take the hit, keep it friendly.
Marshals in every zone
Qualified, first-aid-trained marshals play alongside you and call the games. There is never a zone without one.
Full protective kit
Padded overalls, gloves, neck protection and body armour are included with every package at no extra cost.
Fully insured, UKPSF standards
Blackthorn operates to UK Paintball Sports Federation guidance with public liability cover and annual site inspection.
Minimum age is 10 for our low-impact kit and 16 for standard games. Under-18s need a parent or guardian signature on the waiver.

Before You Come
What to wear and bring
Kit and overalls are included. Everything below is on you — and yes, people forget the socks every single week.
Old trainers or walking boots
Ankle support helps in the trenches. Whatever you wear will come home muddy.
Layers, not your best hoodie
Overalls go over the top, so wear a long-sleeve base layer and joggers underneath.
A full change of clothes
Including socks. Especially socks. There is a stream and you will end up in it.
A towel and a bin bag
For you and for the muddy pile going in the boot of the car.
Water and snacks
Lunch is included on full-day packages, but bring a bottle you can refill.
Leave the jewellery at home
Rings, chains and watches catch on kit. Lockers are free at base camp.
